• You must take the EJU of November 2026 held by JASSO with one of the listed subject combinations and enrol as a regular student (正規生) at a Japanese faculty, junior college, college of technology (3rd year or above) or specialised training college between November 2026 and October 2027. Students entering a graduate school are not eligible.RequiredOrganisation’s wording: 日本学生支援機構が2026年11月に実施する日本留学試験を次のいずれかの科目選択により受験する者で、2026年11月から2027年10月までに日本の大学学部、短期大学、高等専門学校（第3学年以上）、専修学校専門課程に正規生（研究生・研修生・科目等履修生・専攻科生・別科生・聴講生・選科生等を除く）として入学する者
• To receive the scholarship, you must hold the '留学' (student) status of residence and must not be a government-financed international student under the MEXT scheme nor a student dispatched by a foreign government.RequiredOrganisation’s wording: 1.出入国管理及び難民認定法（昭和26年10月4日政令第319号）別表第1に定める「留学」の在留資格を有し、国費外国人留学生制度実施要項（昭和29年3月31日文部大臣裁定）に定める国費外国人留学生及び外国政府の派遣する留学生でないこと。
